Jim is a highly regarded counsel who has acted for clients in both the federal and provincial jurisdictions in the area of civil litigation, labour and employment and administrative law. He has developed an expertise in commercial litigation, labour relations, and wrongful dismissal — and he is nationally recognized for his work in representing clients in the airline and railway industry. 

Jim has been counsel in a number of precedent-setting cases involving employee rights, and labour relations disputes involving the transfer of public sector enterprises to the private sector both provincial and federal jurisdictions. He is particularly knowledgeable in the areas of administrative tribunals, federal and provincial public inquiries and the negotiation of federal and provincial collective agreements. He has represented senior members of the RCMP, Canadian Military and Public Service, before various federal commissions, including the Somalia Inquiry.

 

A wannabe golfer, Jim plays an active role in the Ottawa community, assisting various charitable and volunteer organizations. He is a former lecturer at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and a member of the Advocates Society.
